Payment details
Annual membership fees are 50 Euros for professional, and 20 Euros for student members (under-/graduate and Ph.D. students). Fees can be conveniently paid online via credit card (preferred). Depending on your location and device, additional payment methods may be available (e.g., Apple Pay). If you would like to pay via PayPal or bank transfer, please choose “offline” in your personal account. You can find ATRs bank details below. Please note: Since ATR is an association according to German law, it is known and named by financial institutions (bank + PayPal) as Gesellschaft für Jahrringforschung e.V.
For retired colleagues, a fee reduction of 30 Euros is offered (i.e. annual fee of 20 Euros).
Lastly, ATR offers a lifetime membership (unlimited subscription period; non-recurring) for 1.000 Euros. Lifetime membership fees are to be paid via bank transfer or credit card to avoid high processing fees of PayPal.

ATR bylaws
The bylaws of the Association for Tree-Ring Research are available in English and German. The English version is a certified translation of the original German bylaws. In case of divergence, the German version shall prevail.
Membership FAQ
When does the membership year begin and end?
The membership year corresponds to the calendar year. It begins on January 1 of each year and ends on December 31.
Will the membership fees be prorated if I sign up in the middle of the year?
No, the fees remain the same throughout the year, regardless of when you sign up.
Can I change my membership level after registering?
Yes, that’s possible. For example, after you graduate, you can upgrade from “Student” to “Professional.”
Will I receive a reminder when my membership expires?
Yes, you’ll receive a reminder 30 days before your membership expires. If something comes up and you forget to pay, you’ll receive a payment reminder 30 days and another 90 days after your membership expires.

How can I cancel my membership?
If you wish to cancel your membership, please do so in your personal member area after signing in. You can cancel your membership at the end of the current year, and you will receive a confirmation email once your membership has ended. Your login credentials will remain active, so you can reactivate your membership at any time and continue to enjoy the benefits. If you would like your account information to be permanently deleted, please contact us at this email address: atr.tree.ring@gmail.com
How can I change my password?
You can change your password in the members’ area after you’ve logged in. It’s best to write down your new password right away, because as soon as you click “Save and Continue” below, it will already be changed!
If you’ve forgotten your password, you can request a new one in the login area. Simply enter the email address you used to register. Note that the account will be locked after 10 failed attempts, which will then require either the admin to set a password or the user to submit a new password reset request.
